Omair Sana Foundation (OSF) is ‘the premier NGO working for cure and prevention of Thalassemia in Pakistan’. It’s an initiative taken back in 2003 by a Pakistan-born American doctor, Kashif Hussain Ansari. Named after the two kids he had lost to Blood Diseases, Omair and Sana, the Foundation was established to operate in Pakistan and primarily support thalassemic children whose families are financially challenged and, therefore, unable to afford the treatment. He was joined in this noble cause by his younger brother, Saqib Hussain Ansari, a doctor by profession, specializing in blood diseases.
